KANSAS CITY — Beverage innovation is booming on menus, with restaurants debuting new coffee and tea options going into the new year.

A new tea variety and two new coffee flavors and a new tea are joining Dunkin’ Donuts’ menu for a limited time this winter. The new Buttery Toffee Nut offers the taste of buttery toffee with a toasty nut flavor, the company said, while Winter White Chocolate combines white chocolate and subtle vanilla flavors. Both flavors are available for a limited time in Dunkin’ Donuts’ hot or iced coffees, lattes, macchiatos and frozen coffee. Dunkin’ also is debuting Decaf Breakfast Tea, featuring a blend of premium black teas from around the world.

Starbucks is adding a new batch of Teavana Wellness Teas to its lineup, featuring fruit flavors and warming spices. Teavana Defense Wellness Tea is made with vitamin C, white tea and blackberry leaves with notes of lime, pineapple and orange. Teavana Comfort Wellness Tea is a rooibos blend with ginger and lemon and notes of spearmint and peppermint. Teavana Rev Up Wellness Tea features a blend of black, oolong and green teas combined with mango, apricot and peach flavors. Teavana Citrus Defender is a combination of the new Teavana Defense Wellness Tea, steamed lemonade, hot water, honey and a blend of citrus and warming spices, including cinnamon.

“The holidays have come and gone, but the winter season continues,” Starbucks said. “For consumers looking for a comforting warm beverage this winter, Starbucks announces a new collection of Teavana Wellness Teas.”

Peet’s Coffee is launching a new line of “Golden” beverages to its menu. The drinks all feature turmeric, honey and ginger. The Golden Caffe Latte features steamed milk blended with turmeric and poured over espresso infused with ginger and a touch of honey sweetness. The Golden Chai Latte features an infusion of Mighty Leaf Tea Masala Chai, turmeric and light spices. The Golden Cappuccino is a classic cappuccino reimagined with the mix of turmeric, ginger and honey.  The Golden Cold Brew Fog Latte features the chain’s Baridi Cold Brew Blend infused with turmeric, ginger and honey that is whipped with milk and a scoop of ice.

“After an indulgent holiday season, our wellness-centric and coffee forward Golden Caffẻ Latte, Golden Chai Latte, and Golden Cappuccino are the perfect way to kick off 2018,” said David Burwick, chief executive officer and president of Peet’s Coffee. “Their simple, flavorful spices also honor our founder, Alfred Peet, who originally sold such ingredients in our first coffeebar on Vine & Walnut when it opened in 1966 and was known as ‘Peet’s Coffee, Tea, and Spices.’”

Jamba Juice is introducing two cold-brew coffee blends. The new La Vida Mocha is a blend of cold-brew coffee, the chain’s Chocolate Moo’d base, nonfat frozen yogurt and ice. The Lotta Horchata is a blend of cold-brew coffee, cinnamon, chia seeds, honey, almonds milk, nonfat frozen yogurt and ice.

“Kick start your day with Jamba’s new cold-brew coffee blends,” the chain said. “Using sustainably-sourced coffee ingredients, our La Vida Mocha and Lotta Horchata smoothies have all the caffeine and flavor, with none of the added guilt.”
