WESTCHESTER, ILL. — Anthony DeLio has been promoted to senior vice-president of corporate strategy and chief innovation officer for Ingredion, Inc., effective March 1. Mr. DeLio is currently senior vice-president and chief innovation officer.
In his new role, Mr. DeLio will be tasked with developing the company’s strategy, identifying growth opportunities and pursuing partnership and acquisition opportunities, Ingredion said. He will also continue to oversee the company’s global research and development function as well as its innovation initiatives.
Mr. DeLio joined Ingredion in 2006 as divisional vice-president and general manager, North America of the company’s national starch business. He was appointed vice-president of innovation in 2008 and became senior vice-president and chief innovation officer in 2011. Prior to Ingredion, Mr. DeLio held senior leadership positions with Archer Daniels Midland Co., Mars, Inc. and Nestle S.A.

Mr. DeLio will succeed Martin Sonntag, current senior vice-president of strategy and global business development, who plans to leave Ingredion March 1 to pursue other career interests. Mr. Sonntag joined Ingredion in 2014 and previously held roles at Adcuram Group AG and Dow Chemical Co.
