HAYWARD, CALIF. — Rob Leibowitz has been tapped to lead Kite Hill, a brand backed by General Mills’ venture arm, 301 Inc. He brings more than 30 years of management and brand building experience to his new role as chief executive officer.

Most recently, Mr. Leibowitz was c.e.o. of TSG Consumer Partners Food and Pet Portfolio, leading the development agendas of multiple portfolio companies. Previously, he was general manager of Del Monte Foods Pet Division, leading a significant financial and marketplace turnaround. For more than 20 years, he held roles in management, marketing, innovation and sales at Mars, Inc.

“Rob brings an arsenal of knowledge of the food industry across all channels and his extensive experience will help Kite Hill reach its full potential in meeting current rapidly increasing consumer demand for delicious plant-based foods,” said John Haugen, Kite Hill board member and vice-president and general manager of 301 Inc. “Rob’s demonstrated ability to drive meaningful marketplace success along with his passion and hands-on leadership, as well as being recognized for inspiring teams against purposeful visions, makes him an ideal fit for Kite Hill.”

Combining traditional cheese making techniques with a proprietary almond milk formulation, Kite Hill produces a range of products, including artisanal nut cheeses, cultured cream cheese-style spreads, varieties of frozen ravioli and cultured yogurts.
