IRVINE, CALIF. – Golden State Foods, a supplier to the quick-service restaurant segment, has acquired KanPak U.S., Arkansas City, Kas., a business unit of KanPak L.L.C., and a supplier of beverages and desserts. In November 2012, Golden State Foods acquired KanPak China from KanPak L.L.C.

“We’re excited about expanding our partnership with KanPak, which will enable G.S.F. and KanPak to increase our offerings to our customers domestically and internationally,” said Mark Wetterau, chairman and chief executive officer of Golden State Foods. “It will enable both companies to more fully execute the strategy of meeting the needs of evolving global markets across food and beverage customers, foodservice and consumer packaged goods.”

Larry McGill, corporate vice-president and president of food processing for Golden State Foods, will be promoted to president and c.e.o. of KanPak U.S. Dennis Cohlmia, the current president and c.e.o. of KanPak U.S., will serve as chairman of the board of KanPak U.S. KanPak U.S. has operations in Kansas, Connecticut, Canada and Mexico.

Golden State Foods’ core businesses include the processing of liquid products, meat, produce, dairy and other services for the Q.S.R. industry. The company has 42 plants worldwide.
