CHICAGO — PepsiCo, Inc. is tapping into consumer trends with two new Tropicana beverage lines boasting organic ingredients and coconut water.
Tropicana Kids is a new line of certified U.S.D.A. organic fruit juice drinks for children. Made with 45% fruit juice mixed with filtered water, the beverages contain no added sweeteners or artificial flavors and come in fruit punch, mixed berry and watermelon varieties. The drinks contain 40 calories per serving and are packaged in pouches with a clear panel “so moms and dads can see the goodness inside and feel good about serving Tropicana Kids to their children,” PepsiCo said.
The new Tropicana Coco Blends line offers a blend of Tropicana juice with 10% coconut water. Available in two flavors — pineapple with coconut water and peach passion fruit with coconut water — the juices contain 70 calories per serving with no artificial sweeteners or artificial flavors.
"Tropicana has continued to innovate to secure our spot not only at the breakfast table, but throughout the daily lives of on-the-go Americans," said Becca Kerr, senior vice-president of the North American nutrition fruit and vegetable portfolio for PepsiCo. "We're thrilled to launch Tropicana Kids, offering an organic, premium fruit juice drink for busy parents who don't want to sacrifice their kids' nutrition, while Tropicana Coco Blends introduces a delicious way to enjoy the coconut water craze in a great-tasting juice drink."
The new Tropicana Kids and Tropicana Coco Blends product lines follow a similar health and wellness trend-driven innovation PepsiCo announced in September 2016. Tropicana Essentials Probiotics, a line of juices with live and active cultures, became available in early 2017.
