WILLMAR, MINN. — Jennie-O Turkey Store, a subsidiary of Hormel Foods Corp., is introducing uncured turkey breast franks, which have 50% less fat than beef franks, according to the company.

Made with premium turkey breast, the franks contain no artificial preservatives, colors or flavors, have no added nitrites or nitrates, and are gluten-free. The product may be served as a Chicago-style hot dog or tucked into a lettuce wrap topped with shredded vegetables and guacamole, according to the company.

Additionally, Jennie-O is expanding its line of turkey bacon with new blueberry and jalapeño flavors. Other new products include seasoned turkey sausage in taco, Italian and chorizo flavors; turkey burgers in bacon and cheddar, white turkey and seasoned varieties; and boneless turkey breast.

“When it comes to meal time, Americans want it all: their favorite dishes, but with less fat, calories, artificial ingredients or preservatives,” said Brent Koosmann, director of marketing for Jennie-O. “Fortunately, Jennie-O is in a unique position to meet the needs of today’s families and health-conscious consumers. Our uncured turkey franks are a great example of the flavorful, better-for-you foods we’re creating to satisfy and inspire grocery shoppers.”

Jennie-O said the products will be available in grocery stores nationwide this spring.
