ABBOTTSTOWN, PA. — MAW Acquisitions LP, which is made up of former owners of Snyder’s Bakery, has acquired G&S Foods/Tastysnack Quality Foods, Inc., from Steve Garvick and Dale Spahr, working with Maryland-based SC&H Capital. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Established in York County, Pa., in 1996, G&S Foods, Inc. is a co-packer and private label manufacturer of salty snacks. In 1999, G&S Foods, Inc. purchased Tastysnack Quality Foods, which allowed G&S to add enrobing capabilities. Shortly after the acquisition the companies moved to a 110,000-square-foot facility in Abbottstown, which is strategically located close to the largest retail markets and at the heart of the snack food manufacturing industry.

The company makes pellet snacks, pita chips, snack mixes, popcorn, flavored pretzels, cheese products, extruded products and enrobed products. The company also has a range of packaging capabilities, including form and fill bags, pouch style bags, bulk boxes, pallet display units, shippers/floor displays, tubs and containers and barrels.

The companies said the existing infrastructure, including management and sales teams, will remain unchanged.

“We were only interested in selling the business if we could find the absolute best fit for our employees, our customers and our community,” Mr. Garvick said. “Tricia (Patricia A.) Warehime offered that opportunity through her family owner/operator experience with Snyder’s of Hanover, her shared knowledge and passion for the snack food industry, and her commitment to continued investment in our community.”

We’ve known Steve and Dale personally and professionally for years and are looking forward to sharing our experience and networks to build, enhance and further expand this solid, well-managed company while ensuring quality, customer service and efficiency remain the hallmarks.”

The buyer, Ms. Warehime, is the widow of the late Michael Warehime, former chairman, president and chief executive officer of Snyder’s Bakery. Mr. Warehime died in 2014 at the age of 73. When he died, he was chairman of Snyder's-Lance, Inc.

Earlier this year, Snyder’s-Lance completed a $6 billion deal to be acquired by Camden, N.J.-based The Campbell Soup Co.

To assist G&S Foods in growth strategy development, Ms. Warehime has established an industry-rich board of managers, including:

• Tom Dempsey, most recently chief executive officer of the Snack Food Association (now SNAC International) and formerly president of Utz Quality Foods, Inc.

• Ed Good, formerly divisional president of Snyder’s-Lance and chief financial officer of Snyder’s of Hanover.

• Peter Michaud, formerly divisional president of Snyder’s-Lance.

• Dan Morgan, president and chief sales officer of BFY and formerly chief sales officer of Snyder’s-Lance.
