KANSAS CITY — From cold brew-infused whipped cream and cactus to coconut jellies and colors inspired by the cosmos, innovative spins on cold sips are making a splash on restaurant menus.

Sweet cold brew whipped cream is the star of Starbucks’ two new layered Frappuccino varieties: the Ultra Caramel Frappuccino and the Triple Mocha Frappuccino. Both blended beverages are layered and topped with the caffeinated cream, which is infused with cold brew coffee, dark caramel sauce and white chocolate mocha sauce.

Dunkin’ Donuts is debuting two new blended beverages featuring the colors of the cosmos. The new Cosmic Cotton Candy Coolatta features a pink cotton candy Coolatta topped with blue raspberry, while the Cosmic Pineapple Coolatta combines yellow, pineapple-flavored Coolatta with blue raspberry.

Caribou Coffee is counting on bubbles to boost its beverage offering. The coffee chain’s new line of Bubble Beverages features chewy coconut jellies flavored with caramel. The morsels are featured in the new iced Raspberry Green Tea, blended Caramel Cooler and blended Matcha Tea Cooler.

At Tropical Smoothie Café, cactus is the core ingredient in a new hydrating smoothie option. The Citrus Cactus Smoothie features a blend of cactus, orange, apple, mango, pineapple and lime juice.
