SAN ANTONIO — H-E-B Grocery Co. expects to open a new snack manufacturing plant in northwest Houston by mid-2019. The 46,000-square-foot plant is located in the same complex as the retailer’s milk plant, bread facility and distribution center.
H-E-B first announced plans to build the snack plant back in September 2017 and began construction on the facility in December. The company plans to make H-E-B-branded plain and flavored tortilla chips at the plant.
H-E-B already has a presence in Texas, operating a 40,000-square-foot snack plant in San Antonio.
Founded in 1905 as C.C. Butt Grocery Store, H-E-B is a privately held supermarket chain operating more than 350 stores throughout Texas and northeast Mexico.
