DALLAS — A trio of industry veterans is joining Borden Dairy Co.’s leadership team, effective immediately. Joe DePetrillo has been named chief marketing officer, Nick Suffredin has been appointed vice-president of research and development, and Brent Fowler has been named vice-president of operations.

We can’t wait to get started working together.”

Mr. DePetrillo, Borden’s new c.m.o., joins the company from Danone N.A., where he was vice-president of sales for Earthbound Farms. Previously, he held various leadership roles in sales and marketing for Nestle S.A.’s Dreyer’s Grand Ice Cream, as well as at Johnson & Johnson and Best Foods.

In his new role, Mr. Petrillo will be responsible for the creation and implementation of Borden’s marketing strategy and will be tasked with redefining the company’s approach to innovation.

“Joe is a transformational leader with invaluable experience in the packaged goods and dairy space,” Mr. Sarsam said. “We are happy to have him join a team that will lead Borden to this next exciting phase of the company’s life cycle. Joe brings broad skills in driving product innovation, customer service and people leadership. He will lead an energized campaign that is perfect for the new Borden.”

Mr. Suffredin, incoming vice-president of R.&D., was most recently director of R.&D. at Post Holdings, Inc. He brings to Borden more than a decade of experience in data-based R.&D. in the food and beverage market, including at companies such as PepsiCo, Inc. and Jel Sert. Mr. Suffredin also held leadership positions at Post Holdings, Inc. and Integrys Energy Group.

In his new role at Borden, Mr. Suffredin will be responsible for creating new products through “rigorous scientific processes,” the company said.

“We are excited to have Nick join us in the crucial role of vice-president of R.&D.,” Mr. Sarsam said. “Borden has real opportunities to introduce new products, and we are happy that Nick will help lead those important efforts. Nick’s background in health and wellness, as well as nutrition, can help us deliver the healthy products our customers are looking for.”

Mr. Fowler, new vice-president of operations for Borden, joins the company after spending 27 years in various leadership positions at Frito-Lay, a subsidiary of PepsiCo. He most recently was senior director of the Dallas metro area supply chain for the company.

In his new position as Borden’s vice-president of operations, Mr. Fowler will be responsible for supporting and guiding the company’s field manufacturing efforts. All plant operations leaders will report to him.

“Brent’s high-energy, team leadership and his success in managing complex manufacturing operations are going to be great for Borden,” Mr. Sarsam said. “We are excited to have him be part of the team that will lead Borden to the next, innovative phase of the company’s life cycle. Brent can help us drive customer service and people leadership through his commitment to direct, on-the-ground interaction. He will collaborate with local operations teams to support our strategic vision with the spirit of innovation and positivity that is at the heart of the new Borden.”
