OAK BROOK, ILL. — TreeHouse Foods, Inc. said it plans to close its office in Omaha, Neb., by Jan. 31, 2019. The move is part of the company’s TreeHouse 2020 multi-year restructuring program, which is designed to reduce cost structure through simplification and to align business operations.

TreeHouse said it expects to incur approximately $6 million in costs associated with the facility closing. The facility serves as an operations center for TreeHouse, with employees working in customer service, information technology, procurement, research and development, and supply chain.

“The decision to close the Omaha office was a difficult one, and we are committed to assisting employees through this difficult transition,” said Steve Oakland, president and chief executive officer of TreeHouse Foods. “As we streamline our enterprise resource planning systems and near the completion of SAP order-to-cash conversions, it makes a great deal of strategic and financial sense to leverage our shared services capabilities across the company.”

TreeHouse said the closing will affect approximately 200 employees. Work currently being done in Omaha will be consolidated into TreeHouse’s existing facilities in Green Bay, Wis., and Oak Brook, the company said.
