AUSTIN, MINN. — Smucker’s Uncrustables may face competition from Hormel Foods’ latest launch. Debuting in the frozen aisle, new Skippy P.B. & Jelly Minis are bite-size buns filled with Skippy peanut butter and grape or strawberry jelly. Varieties include white bakery bread or whole grain bakery bread made with a blend of doughs to create a soft texture, according to the company.

"We know that consumers continue to look for more and more ways to find easy protein solutions for snacking and quick meals on-the-go,” said Jennesa Kinscher, brand manager at Hormel Foods. “With the launch of Skippy P.B. & Jelly Minis, peanut butter and jelly lovers everywhere now have another way to enjoy the classic P.B. and J. in a fun and convenient way.”

The products are beginning to roll out on retail shelves nationwide for a suggested retail price of $3.29 to $3.48 for a 4-count box and $6.99 to $7.49 for a 10-count box.

“The new Skippy P.B. & Jelly Minis can go right from the freezer into a lunch box or backpack and thaw for a delicious mid-morning snack or great lunch option,” Ms. Kinscher said.

Smucker’s Uncrustables is a brand of sealed, crustless peanut butter and jelly sandwiches that also may be found in the freezer case.
