KANSAS CITY — With fall now in full swing, food and beverage manufacturers are debuting seasonal, limited-time-only offerings with autumn-inspired flavors such as pumpkin spice, pecan pie, smoked butterscotch, pumpkin cheesecake and caramel apple.

The Kellogg Co. is bringing its Bear Naked brand into the spirit of the season with two new granola flavors for fall. The pumpkin spice granola is slow-baked with cinnamon, nutmeg, ginger, pumpkin seeds and white chocolate, while the pecan pie variety is made with glazed praline pecans, maple syrup, cinnamon, caramel and bits of pecan pie crust.

“Americans spent $488.7 million on pumpkin spice-flavored foods within the last year according to Nielsen, and we know Bear Naked fans are always looking for new food experiences, so it was only natural for us to give unique take on classic favorites,” said Jason Moraff, associate director of marketing for Bear Naked. “With that insight and inspiration in mind, we reimagined the familiar flavor profiles of pumpkin and pecan pie, incorporating white chocolate chips and caramel pieces in our granola to mimic the creaminess that you get when eating pie a la mode.”

Offering a less traditional autumnal flavor profile, Starbucks is introducing the limited-edition ready-to-drink Smoked Butterscotch Latte. Each 14-fluid-oz bottle contains 240 calories and offers a “smoky, buttery, savory” flavor, Starbucks said.

“The launch of new seasonal flavors is another example of Yasso continuing to bring innovation to the frozen novelty and packaged ice cream category,” said Drew Harrington, co-founder and co-chief executive officer of Yasso. “These new items double down on indulgence and provide the nostalgic tastes of the season, but in a format that can be enjoyed frequently and with sensible nutrition. We had a lot of fun with their development and feel we’ll create an exciting shopping experience through our unique holiday designs.”

Morinaga America, Inc.’s Hi-Chew brand is releasing a new limited-edition caramel apple flavor for fall. The candy features the taste of tart apples wrapped in chewy caramel.

“We want to keep candy lovers on their toes with flavors that combine real fruit juices and iconic American tastes with the deliciously chewy texture that Hi-Chew fans love,” said Norio Otsuki, chief operating officer of Morinaga America. “In experimenting with different palates and flavor combinations for the fall, our team of experts was inspired to create Caramel Apple, a flavor that truly encompasses the spirit of the season.”
