MILWAUKEE — The Coca-Cola Co. will invest $30 million at its bottling and distribution center in Milwaukee. As part of the investment, Atlanta-based Coca-Cola said it will replace its Dasani line with a smartwater line, making the Milwaukee plant one of only five smartwater lines in North America.

Additionally, Coca-Cola said it is expanding its warehouse operations, a move that will allow the company to produce the smartwater bottles in Milwaukee, as opposed to shipping them in from out of state.

Construction is expected to be finished by April 2014.

Coca-Cola Co. acquired Energy Brands, Inc., which is more commonly known as Glaceau, and its water brands (including smartwater) for $4.1 billion in cash in 2007.
