CHICAGO — Fairlife, L.L.C., maker of dairy products distributed by the Coca-Cola Co., is launching a new line of snack-size beverages designed to help curb hunger between meals.
New Fairlife Smart Snacks nutrition shakes are made with the brand’s ultra-filtered milk, which is dairy milk that is cold-filtered to remove the lactose while delivering 50% more protein and 50% less sugar than regular milk, Fairlife said. The milk is then blended with honey and oats as well as strawberries, cocoa or vanilla for flavor.
Available in chocolate, french vanilla and strawberry flavors, each 8-oz bottle contains 15 grams of protein, 5 grams of dietary fiber and 40% of the recommended daily value of calcium, Fairlife said. The beverages are lactose-free, gluten-free, ultra-pasteurized for a longer shelf life and contain prebiotics.
“I’m always looking for that energy and nutrition boost in the mid-morning or mid-afternoon,” said Sue McCloskey, co-founder of Fairlife. “That’s why I’m so excited to announce the addition of Fairlife smart snacks to our portfolio, but I’m especially delighted because its irresistibly rich and creamy flavor profile excites my taste buds, and it keeps me from being hungry between meals. I’m so proud that Fairlife can offer one-of-a-kind products like these that bring superior nutrition in conveniently sized bottles that fit our fast-paced lifestyles today.”
