PARSIPPANY, N.J. — Ferrero USA, the maker of Nutella, Tic Tac and Kinder Joy, has announced a $9 million expansion of its industrial facility in Franklin Township, Somerset, N.J. The project will add nearly 100 jobs, according to the company.

Ferrero has invested $12 million into the Somerset facility since 2016 to support the launch of Kinder Joy in the United States. Previously available outside of North America, the product features an egg-shaped package containing a sweet treat and small toy. Since the U.S. debut in November 2017, Kinder Joy has surpassed all company and industry targets for a new product launch, with more than 90 million eggs sold.

“We are proud to do business in Franklin Township, and we’re thrilled to be expanding our existing operations here,” said Paul Chibe, president and chief executive officer of Ferrero North America. “This renovation demonstrates the ongoing commitment Ferrero has to doing business in the state of New Jersey, and we’re confident this will continue to be a successful partnership for us all.”
