KANSAS CITY — The yogurt category is culturing innovation, from double cream varieties to low-sugar offerings to yogurt snacks made for children.

Danone North America’s Oikos brand is introducing Oikos Oh!, a new line of double cream yogurt interlaced with dulce de leche flavor. The yogurt is Non-GMO Project verified and comes in four flavors: Lemon Sweet Cream Delight, Magnificent Mixed Berry Rhubarb, Salt-Dusted Caramel Crème and Honey Drizzle Blueberry.

“With people on the hunt for new crave-worthy treats, Oikos, from Danone North America, is introducing Oh!, an unbelievably indulgent double cream yogurt crafted with premium ingredients that are so delicious, it will redefine the yogurt aisle as the go-to place for indulgence,” Danone said.

Also new from Danone is Two Good, a new Greek low-fat yogurt by Light & Fit with 2 grams of total sugar, 12 grams of protein and 80 calories per 5.3-oz serving. Made by a slow-straining batching process that removes the sugar from the milk, the yogurt comes in five flavors: vanilla, mixed berry, peach, strawberry and blueberry. Two Good will launch nationwide in January.

“Two Good isn’t too good to be true — but it is revolutionary,” Danone said. “Light & Fit has developed a patent pending slow-straining batching process that removes the sugar from the milk used to make the yogurt. What’s left is a thick, creamy Greek low-fat yogurt product with 85% less sugar than average yogurts, but still rich in protein and all the deliciousness you would expect from Light & Fit.”

Children are the choice audience for Chobani L.L.C.’s new Chobani Gimmies line of Greek yogurt snacks. Made with non-G.M.O. ingredients, the Chobani Gimmies platform includes four formats: Crunch, milkshakes, tubes and pouches. The snacks come in fun flavors such as Bizzy Buzzy Strawberry, Bunch of Bouncy Grape and Poppin’ Cotton Candy.

“Options today are lousy or impractical,” said Hamdi Ulukaya, founder and chief executive officer of Chobani. “It’s either junk food that parents don’t want their kids to eat or food that’s designed for adults that kids don’t want to eat. We wanted to break that cycle, and it’s a challenge we took really seriously. As a parent, you know that food for kids has to be fun, it has to be delicious and most importantly, it has to be nutritious. And parents deserve nutritious options they can feel good about giving their kids.”
