DELPHOS, OHIO — Lakeview Farms, a marketer and manufacturer of refrigerated desserts, dips, seafood salads and spreads, has acquired Tribe Mediterranean Foods, Taunton, Mass. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Founded in 1993, Tribe Mediterranean is a producer of prepared hummus products in various sweet and savory flavors with no preservatives, hydrogenated oils or high-fructose corn syrup. The acquisition strengthens Lakeview Farms’ presence in the supermarket perimeter with entry into the $800 million hummus category, according to the company. Lakeview’s family of brands includes Luisa’s, Salads of the Sea, Sea Gold, Senor Rico and others.

Tribe employs approximately 85 full-time, part-time and seasonal employees.
