LOUISVILLE, KY. — Marvin Boakye has been named to the newly created role of chief people officer at Papa John’s International, Inc. He joins the company’s executive leadership team and will report to Steve M. Ritchie, president and chief executive officer.

Mr. Boakye brings more than 20 years of human resources experience to Papa John’s. Most recently, he was vice-president of human resources at Andeavor, a petroleum company in San Antonio, which was recently acquired by Marathon Petroleum. Previously, he was chief human resources officer for MTS Allstream, a telecommunications firm, and held senior human resources positions at Goodyear, Pulte Group and The Home Depot.

At Papa John’s, he will lead the implementation of the company’s talent management strategy, including overseeing people operations, compensation and benefits, and learning and development. He replaces Bob Smith, senior vice-president of people operations, who retired this past August after 15 years at Papa John’s.
