COLORADO SPRINGS, COLO. — Trisco Foods, a Brisbane, Australia-based food manufacturer and contract packager, said it will establish its U.S. headquarters and production operations in Colorado Springs.
Trisco said it plans to expand the facility in two phases.
As part of Phase 1, the company recently purchased a 39,600-square-foot facility in Colorado Springs that initially will be used to produce a range of specialized food products that are used in the treatment of a swallowing disorder known as dysphagia.
Phase II will take place over the next five years and will involve Trisco using its R.&D. capabilities to introduce innovative food solutions into new markets, both locally and across the world. Trisco has operated across numerous food and beverage markets, including food service, bakery, retail and industrial ingredients, and its products include a range of fillings, glazes, dips, sauces, toppings and syrups. Plans call for the Colorado Springs plant to have the capability to supply potential new export markets in Europe and South America, Trisco said.
“Colorado Springs was chosen as an ideal location for our international expansion,” said Mike Tristram, chief executive officer of Trisco Foods. “With good access to the entire United States, as well as a growing specialty food manufacturing culture, we see great opportunities for the future. Colorado Springs is an exciting and fast-growing region and mirrors the balanced but hard-working lifestyle of our hometown in Brisbane, Australia.”
