LYNN, MASS. — Kettle Cuisine, a manufacturer of small-batch soups, sauces and side dishes, has acquired Harry’s Fresh Foods, a privately held custom food manufacturing company based in Portland. Financial terms of the transaction were not disclosed.

Acquiring Harry’s will bring an expanded manufacturing footprint to Kettle Cuisine and further enhance our ability to deliver on that promise.”
Founded in 1977, Harry’s Fresh Foods operates a 200,000-square-foot plant in Nashville, Tenn., and an 80,000-square-foot facility in Portland. The company’s product offerings include chilis, desserts, entrees and sides, sauces, soups, as well as a range of gluten-free, organic and vegetarian offerings. The company’s products are available in grocery and club stores across the United States.
Kettle Cuisine is a portfolio company of private equity firm Kainos Capital. Kainos acquired Kettle Cuisine in 2015, and since that time it has invested more than $300 million to acquire and integrate complementary businesses, expand cooking capacity, add high-speed filling and packaging equipment and expand “from-scratch” bone broth capabilities. Last fall, Kainos folded together Kettle Cuisine, Bonewerks Culinarte and Savory Creations to create Kettle Cuisine.
