KANSAS CITY — With spring underway and summer on the horizon, fruit flavors are trending on menus.

At Dunkin’, a new grape flavor is joining the chain’s Cosmic Coolatta offerings. The Cosmic Grape Coolatta frozen beverage features grape and blue raspberry flavors. Dunkin’ also is debuting Banana Split Coffee, which offers the appeal of banana flavor plus hints of chocolate, strawberry and vanilla ice cream flavors.

Krispy Kreme’s new lineup is fully focused on fruit flavors. The donut maker is launching its Fruit-Inspired Collection featuring the Lemon Glazed Doughnuts and three new fruit-flavored donuts: the Pineapple Doughnut, Key Lime Doughnut and Strawberry Doughnut. The donuts include fruit filling and are decorated with icing to mimic their real-life fruit counterparts.

Auntie Anne’s is adding new fruit-flavored frozen drinks to its menu. The new Lemonade Frost is made with frozen lemonade mixed with a vanilla smoothie base and topped with whipped cream. The beverages also may be layered and topped with strawberry, mango, blue raspberry or cherry syrup.

Tropical fruits are in the spotlight at White Castle. The burger chain’s new Tropical Smoothie is made with Dole mango, pineapple and banana blended with Yoplait yogurt.

At Dairy Queen, orange meets vanilla in the new Dreamsicle Dipped Cone, featuring vanilla soft serve dipped in a crunchy, creamy orange coating and served in a cone.

Peach is the featured fruit in a new dessert from Romano’s Macaroni Grill. The Peach Bellini Cake is a champagne cake featuring layers of mascarpone Chantilly cream plus peaches, strawberries and passion fruit puree.
