BOSTON — Ocean Spray Cranberries has made three key executive appointments across its innovation, marketing and R.&D. operations.

Rizal Hamdallah has been named global chief innovation officer. In his new role, Mr. Hamdallah will lead Ocean Spray’s innovation and research and development teams, developing new health-focused products.

Mr. Hamdallah most recently was managing director of the Tyson Innovation Lab at Tyson Foods, Inc. Earlier, he held various corporate strategy, brand and innovation leadership roles with S.C. Johnson, Unilever and Nestle.

Katy Latimer will take on the role of vice-president of R.&D. Prior to joining Ocean Spray Ms. Latimer was vice-president of culinary innovation for both Dunkin’ and Baskin-Robbins teams at Dunkin’ Brands Group, Inc. She earlier spent 20 years with PepsiCo, Inc., where she helped launch many products globally across carbonated soft drinks, juice drinks, water, tea and coffee categories. She also held prior product development and basic research roles at Seagram’s and Kraft Foods.

Chris O'Connor, new vice-president of marketing for Ocean Spray

Chris O’Connor has joined Ocean Spray as vice-president of marketing. In his new role he will lead the company’s Boston-based core beverage, core food, immediate consumption, licensing and partnership, e-commerce and emerging products teams.

Mr. O’Connor most recently was vice-president of marketing at Nature’s Bounty. He earlier was senior brand manager at Kellogg Co.
