DALLAS — Chris Andrews has joined Smoothie King as its new chief information officer. In this role, Mr. Andrews will manage the overall design and execution of Smoothie King’s I.T. strategy while developing the franchise’s digital infrastructure.

Mr. Andrews was most recently c.i.o. for Pei Wei Asian Diner, which he joined in 2017 as vice-president of I.T. Before that, he was vice-president of infrastructure and corporate development for the Freeman Co. Previously, Mr. Andrews spent five years as the vice-president of I.T. for On the Border, and earlier he was director of systems architecture and integration for Chuck E. Cheese’s parent company CEC Entertainment, Inc.

“Chris brings a wealth of knowledge and experience in both I.T. and the restaurant industry, and his technical skills are second-to-none,” said Wan Kim, chief executive officer of Smoothie King. “What makes him especially unique, though, is his leadership style, which aligns seamlessly with our mission and vision. He’s going to be a key piece for helping our brand grow in 2019 and beyond.”

Mr. Andrews is the third new executive to join the leadership team at Smoothie King in 2019. In March, the company brought aboard Rebecca Miller as chief marketing officer and Thomas King as chief financial officer.
