CINCINNATI — The Kroger Co. recalled three Private Selection frozen berries products manufactured by Townsend Farms due to possible Hepatitis A contamination.
The company said it was informed by the F.D.A. that a sample of Private Selection frozen berries was tested and found to be contaminated with Hepatitis A. No customer illnesses have been reported.
Kroger is recalling three items, which were distributed to all Kroger family of store banners across the United States: The 48-oz Private Selection Frozen Triple Berry Medley, 16-oz Private Selection Frozen Triple Berry Medley and the 16-oz Private Selection Frozen Blackberries.
All potential affected items have been removed from store shelves, the company said. Kroger also has initiated its customer recall notification system, which alerts customers who may have purchased a recalled product through register receipt tape messages and phone calls.
“Customers who have purchased the above products should not consume them and should return them to a store for a full refund or replacement,” the company said.
