ENGELWOOD CLIFFS, N.J. — Tim Brown has been named regional chief executive officer for the Americas at Upfield.

Mr. Brown brings more than 30 years of experience to his new role. Previously, he was president and chief operating officer at Chobani. Before that, he spent 27 years at Nestle in a variety of roles including president, chairman and c.e.o. of Nestle Waters North America and president and c.e.o. of Nestle Canada. He also has been on the board of directors for the Grocery Manufacturers Association, the Grocery Foundation of Canada, the Food Marketing Institute and the Food and Consumer Products of Canada.

In his new role, he will oversee Upfield’s business in the United States, Canada and Latin America. The company’s operations in the Americas includes production, distribution and sales operations throughout three regions.

Upfield was created last year when Unilever sold its plant-based Spreads business to investment firm KRR for $8.036 billion. It is the largest producer of plant-based spreads in the world, with more than 60 brands sold in more than 95 countries. The business includes brands like Becel, Flora, Country Crock, Blue Band, I Can’t Believe It’s Not Butter, Rama and ProActiv.
