CHICAGO — Adam Grogran has been named chief operating officer at Greenleaf Foods, SPC. He joins the plant-based business from parent company Maple Leaf Foods, Inc., where he currently is vice-president of marketing, research and development.

Mr. Grogan has more than 20 years of experience in business functions, supply chain management, category management, brand marketing and customer business development at Maple Leaf Foods. He previously was vice-president and general manager of retail sales for Maple Leaf consumer foods. Before that, he was vice-president of marketing.

“Adam brings tremendous commercial expertise, strong operational experience and leadership to this new role,” said Dan Curtin, president of Greenleaf Foods, SPC. “His technological knowledge and capabilities will be invaluable to Greenleaf at this critical juncture in our rapidly growing business.”

In his new role, Mr. Grogan will oversee efforts to grow Greenleaf’s plant-based protein portfolio, which includes the Lightlife and Field Roast Grain Meat Co brands. In April, the company announced it is working with Maple Leaf Foods to build a new plant-based facility in Shelbyville, Ind. The $310 million, 230,000-square-foot manufacturing facility will be the largest facility and investment of its kind in North America and is expected to double the company’s current production capacity.
