MUNTINLUPA, PHILIPPINES — In a statement made Sept. 20 to the Philippine Stock Exchange, Pepsi-Cola Products Philippines, Inc. (PCPP) announced it will stop manufacturing PepsiCo snacks to maximize its capabilities within the beverage sector. Owned by LOTTE Corp. and PepsiCo, Inc., PCPP is the exclusive manufacturer of PepsiCo beverages and snacks in the Philippines.

PCPP produced Cheetos and other snack lines at its plants in Cabuyao, Philippines. Employees working at the sites will be transitioned into new roles.

PCPP’s board of directors approved the shutdown “to leverage its core competency in the beverage space, which has been the bottling giant’s core business for 70 years,” the company said. The manufacturer produces 14 different beverage lines, including Pepsi, Mountain Dew, Gatorade and Aquafina.

PepsiCo will continue to import Cheetos as well as other snack brands such Lays, Doritos, Ruffles and Fritos to the country.
