KANSAS CITY — Protein-packed snacks are rising in popularity as the busyness of consumers intersects with the trend of eating snacks as meals.

To meet this need for protein-rich products, Rich Products Corp. is introducing Farm Rich Time Outs, a new line of microwavable, single-serve snacks. Packaged in microwavable heat-and-eat boxes with custom dipping sauces, Time Outs come in four varieties.

The Pepperoni Pizza Roll-ups contain 16 grams of protein, come with marinara sauce, and are made with layered mozzarella cheese and pepperoni slices wrapped in flour tortillas.

The Fiesta Chicken Roll-ups contain 17 grams of protein, come with creamy mild poblano ranch sauce and include three seasoned flour tortillas filled with chipotle chicken and pepper jack cheese.

The Boneless Chicken Bites are all-white meat chicken fritters that provide 21 grams of protein and come with a sweet barbecue sauce.

The Mozzarella Bites contain pizzeria-style dough filled with mozzarella cheese that pack 17 grams of protein and come with marinara sauce.

On the sweet side, Lenny & Larry’s is adding The Complete Cremes to its cookie lineup. The sandwich crème cookies are Non-GMO Project verified and provide 6 grams of plant-based protein and 4 grams of fiber per serving. Containing 120 calories per two-cookie serving, The Complete Cremes come in chocolate and vanilla flavors.

Also offering cookies crafted with protein is NuGo Nutrition. New NuGo Perfect Cookies are soft-baked vegan protein cookies that contain 180 to 190 calories and provide 10 grams of pea protein, 11 grams of fiber and 2 grams of sugar or fewer. Flavors include dark chocolate chip, double dark chocolate, peanut butter, and lemon poppy seed.

Catering to keto consumers as well as protein seekers, Glanbia P.L.C.’s Think! business is launching the new Think! Keto Protein Chocolate Peanut Butter Pie Bar. Packed with 10 grams of protein, the 1.41-oz bar contains 4 grams of net carbs, 2 grams of sugar and 180 calories. The gluten-free bar is sweetened with stevia leaf extract and erythritol and features peanut butter and peanut pieces enrobed in a thick layer of chocolate.
