Founded in the United Kingdom in 2008, has more than 55,000 customers in the United States and more than 350 employees internationally. The company now is majority owned by The Carlyle Group, with Octopus Investments and DFJ Esprit and Management owning the remaining share.

For $6 (including delivery), customers may choose from more than 90 products on the web site. The letter box-size delivery contains four individually packaged and portioned snack combinations that are personalized to each person’s taste and dietary specifications, including gluten-free. Customers who sign up will automatically receive a box every two weeks, but also offers the option of getting a box every week, or every four weeks (monthly).

Over the past two years, said it has experienced international growth of more than 130%, bringing total revenue to over $65 million for the year ended Feb. 28, 2013. The on-line retailer earlier this year began testing its service in the United States and has investment more than $5 million in establishing a permanent operation in the United States.
