EDMONTON, ALT. —The Edlong Corp. is getting into the C.B.D. game. The dairy flavors manufacturer announced a joint venture partnership with Radient Technologies Inc., a cannabinoid-based ingredients provider, to create and market cannabidiol (C.B.D.) flavor systems for the global food, beverage and pet food industries.

The joint venture combines Edlong’s expertise in developing, manufacturing and marketing natural flavors and ingredients with Radient’s proprietary cannabinoid extraction platform. The company uses a rapid speed extraction method, called MAP, which eliminates several processing steps. It also allows for higher levels of consistency in the strength and potency of cannabinoid formulations, according to Radient.

The partnership also marks Edlong’s continued expansion beyond traditional dairy flavors. Along with C.B.D., the company increasingly is catering to other growing markets such as dairy-free, vegan, plant-based, organic and non-G.M.O.

“Radient is the perfect partner to align with as we explore new opportunities in this dynamic category that is clearly poised for growth,” said Laurette Rondenet, president and chief executive officer at Edlong. “We’re excited to bring our expertise together.”
