BROOMFIELD, COLO. — Danone North America has partnered with pediatricians to develop new Horizon Organic Growing Years, an organic whole milk formulated to deliver key nutrients to children ages 1 to 5.

Each 8-oz serving provides 50 mg of DHA omega-3 fatty acids to support brain health, 55 mg of choline to transport DHA in the body, 1 gram of prebiotics to feed good gut bacteria, and vitamin D and calcium to aid in bone growth, Danone said. Additionally, the milk contains 8 grams of protein and 170 calories per cup.

“This delicate growing and transition period can feel like a big change for parents and kids alike, and it’s important to Horizon that we continue to support families every step of the way,” said Domenic Borrelli, president of Premium Dairy at Danone North America. “Throughout history, milk has been synonymous with childhood nutrition and healthy development, and offering an organic product specially made for those early years is a natural next step for us.”

Horizon Organic Growing Years milk is packaged in half-gallon cartons and is available nationwide at Target. The milk will be available at other retailers nationwide starting in January 2020.
