KANSAS CITY – Threats of foodborne illness sparked widespread recalls in 2013, which included millions of lbs of frozen snacks potentially tainted with E. coli from Rich Products Corp. and refrigerated salad products with possible Listeria monocytogenes contamination from Reser’s Fine Foods. Concerns also surfaced over the prevalence of Salmonella in imported spices, following a study from the Food and Drug Administration.
