ROCKLEIGH, N.J. — The Takasago Group opened a new, 16,000-square foot facility in Indonesia. It is the company’s first flavors and fragrances plant in the country and twelfth worldwide.

Indonesia was chosen for its geographic location, stable economy, skilled workforce and good infrastructure, Takasago said. The plant will serve the South East Asian market with up to 14,500 tonnes of capacity per year. It also will support further expansion in Indonesia, which the company called “one of the most promising markets” in the region. The country boasts the fourth largest population in the world.

The Takasago Group maintains offices, production sites and R.&D. centers in 27 countries. The company’s North American headquarters and R.&D. center are located in Rockleigh, N.J., with production facilities in Teterboro, N.J., and Harriman, N.Y.
