PHOENIX — Denise Paulonis has been named chief financial officer at Sprouts Farmer Market.

She succeeds Lawrence P. Molloy, who stepped in as interim c.f.o. following the departure of Brad Lukow in June. Mr. Molloy will remain with the company as an independent member of its board of directors.

“We are absolutely delighted to welcome Denise to Sprouts as our new c.f.o.,” said Jack Sinclair, chief executive officer at Sprouts Farmers Market. “Denise’s deep experience in specialty retail and financial acumen will be invaluable to our leadership team as we chart the long-term strategy of our company.”

Ms. Paulonis joins Sprouts from arts and crafts specialty retailer The Michaels Companies, where she was vice-president and chief financial officer. Before that, she held several senior leadership positions at PepsiCo, including vice-president of financial planning and analysis at the Frito-Lay division, vice-president of finance and strategy at the U.S. sales division and vice-president of corporate strategy and development.
