BOSTON — Ocean Spray Cranberries, Inc. has combined cold-brew coffee and fruit juice to create new Ocean Spray Brew. The mashup is part of the company’s “evolution toward health and wellness,” Ocean Spray said.

The hybrid beverage is made with 100% Colombian coffee, and each 8-oz serving contains 40 mg of caffeine from green coffee beans, which is equal to a ½-cup of coffee. Ocean Spray Brew also contains vitamin C, vitamin B and no added sugars. Varieties include cranberry lemonade with cold-brew coffee and cranberry blueberry with cold-brew coffee.

“Consumers are looking for natural ways to increase their energy, and Ocean Spray Brew provides an option to reap other health benefits while having their caffeine,” said Rizal Hamdallah, chief global innovation officer for Ocean Spray. “We’re bringing together the benefits of both health and energy in a delicious and innovative way. Brew is another example of Ocean Spray’s commitment to accelerate innovation and focus on building a health and wellness portfolio as part of our farmer-owned cooperative’s transformation.”

Ocean Spray Brew is set to hit shelves nationwide this month at Target, Stop & Shop, Shaw’s, Albertsons, Vons and Safeway stores. The company plans to roll out the beverage to more stores throughout the year.
