CHARLOTTE, N.C. — Robert Garcia has been promoted to vice-president of franchise operations, training and development at Bojangles’, Inc.

Mr. Garcia joined the chicken and biscuit chain in 2019 from McDonald’s Corp., where he held a series of leadership positions, including vice-president of U.S. operations and vice-president, east division company owned restaurants. He was one of several McDonald’s Corp. executives to join the company last year following its acquisition by a private equity firm, including Brian Unger, chief operations officer, and Jose Armario, chief executive officer.

“Robert is an enthusiastic and very talented leader that we are lucky to have as part of our organization, and I am very excited for him to take on this key role supporting our franchise partners,” Mr. Unger said. “He has decades of experience leading dynamic results-oriented teams and we look forward to him making an immediate impact on franchise operations.”

The company also added Gary Vaynerchuk to its board of directors. Mr. Vaynerchuk is a serial entrepreneur and the c.e.o. of VaynerMedia, a digital agency servicing Fortune 500 clients.
