SPARTANBURG, S.C. —Denny’s is expanding the Beyond Burger to more than 1,700 locations throughout the United States and Canada.

The Denny’s Beyond Burger, which features a plant-based burger topped with tomatoes, onions, lettuce, pickles, American cheese and All-American sauce, debuted in test locations in Los Angeles last year.

“We were thrilled to be able to answer the call from our guests to add more plant-based protein options to our menu when we launched the Beyond Burger in Los Angeles at the end of last year,” said John Dillon, chief brand officer for Denny’s. “The positive response we received validated our decision to partner with Beyond Meat to introduce our guests to a plant-based option.”

Beyond Meat has focused on expanding its presence in the food service channel. Chains including Dunkin’ and Taco Del Mar recently accelerated their national roll-out of Beyond Meat items, and McDonald’s Corp. announced plans to expand its plant-based burger test to more locations in Canada.
