RICHMOND, UTAH — Casper’s Ice Cream, maker of Jolly Llama and FatBoy frozen desserts, is debuting new vegan and gluten-free offerings in the ice cream aisle.

The Jolly Llama brand is launching new dairy-free, gluten-free sandwiches made with a coconut cream ice cream alternative sandwiched between two gluten-free chocolate wafers made with rice flour and pea fiber. Jolly Llama also is adding dairy-free, gluten-free cones to its portfolio, featuring coconut cream ice cream alternative in a chocolate-lined, gluten-free cone made with rice flour. Non-GMO Project verified, certified gluten-free and vegan the cones come in caramel chocolate chip and vanilla fudge sundae varieties. Each cone contains 260 to 310 calories.

“As Americans grow more conscious of health and environmental causes, Jolly Llama continues to push the boundaries of frozen treats by reimagining timeless and refreshing snacks for families to enjoy regardless of their dietary restrictions,” said Paul Merrill, chief executive officer of Casper’s Ice Cream. “Jolly Llama’s coconut-powered sandwiches and cones satisfy the growing demand for dairy-free products and empower ice cream lovers everywhere to enjoy frozen treats without consuming any dairy or gluten.”

The FatBoy brand is making its first foray into the gluten-free market with new gluten-free ice cream sandwiches and gluten-free ice cream cones. The sandwiches, available in a premium vanilla variety, feature vanilla ice cream sandwiched between two gluten-free chocolate wafers made with rice flour and pea fiber. The new gluten-free ice cream cone includes vanilla ice cream with chocolate chip chunks and a fudge ribbon all topped with a chocolatey drizzle within a chocolate-lined, gluten-free cone made with rice flour.

“Our customers want choices that satisfy their dietary needs, and we are thrilled that those following a gluten-free diet can now indulge in a FatBoy ice cream sandwich or cone made with our classic, premium ice cream,” Mr. Merrill said. “The gluten-free diet has spread to a sizable portion of the US population in the last decade and, while our sister brand Jolly Llama offers several gluten-free and dairy-free options, we wanted to offer similar alternatives to our customers who crave the nostalgia and creaminess of FatBoy ice cream in a gluten-free sandwich.”
