NEW YORK — Beyond Better Foods is bringing its Enlightened ice cream and frozen dessert brand into a new category with the debut of Fruit Infusions functional frozen fruit bars.

Infused with adaptogens, Fruit Infusions bars contain 3 to 5 grams of sugar apiece and are sweetened with monk fruit. The treats feature 70% to 80% less sugar than other fruit bars and ice pops, according to the company. All four flavors are gluten-free and kosher.

The Watermelon + Soothe bars are made with turmeric, black pepper and rosemary. Formulated to provide anti-inflammatory and antioxidant properties, each fruit bar contains 60 calories and 4 grams of sugar.

The Strawberry + Chill bars feature lavender, chamomile and lemon balm to promote relaxation and stress relief, the company said. Each bar contains 60 calories and 4 grams of sugar.

The Pineapple + Renew bars are infused with dandelion root, turmeric and ginger root, three botanicals typically used in herbal teas that support a healthy digestive system. Each bar contains 60 calories and 5 grams of sugar.

The Coconut + Immunity bars contain elderberry, hibiscus and aloe and are designed to promote immune health, Beyond Better Foods said. Each bar contains 90 calories and 3 grams of sugar.

"Our brand purpose is to provide consumers with feel-good, low-sugar frozen desserts, so one of our top priorities is finding new ways to put a healthful spin on beloved treats," said Michael Shoretz, founder and chief executive officer of Beyond Better Foods. “Now more than ever, consumers are looking for functional benefits in the grocery store. It's something we've seen in a lot of juices and blended shakes, but not as much in food products. We're thrilled to expand this concept in the frozen aisle with a refreshing new take on fruit bars."

Enlightened Fruit Infusions bars are available nationwide at Whole Foods Market stores for a suggested retail price of $5.99 per four-count box. The company plans to roll out the bars online this summer.
