KANSAS CITY — Amid the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, health and wellness is top of mind for many. To cater to these health-conscious consumers, restaurants are debuting menu items to meet their needs.

Chipotle Mexican Grill, Inc. is launching a line of Lifestyle Bowls inspired by and named after wellness experts. Available exclusively through Chipotle’s app and website, the bowls contain 470 calories each and come in five varieties: The Chris Brickley Bowl, the Cody Rigsby Salad Bowl, the Dr. Mark Hyman Salad Bowl, the Mat Fraser Bowl and the Tia-Clair Toomey Bowl.

“Our fully customizable menu featuring only real ingredients is an ally for consumers looking to reignite their commitment to a healthier lifestyle,” said Chris Brandt, chief marketing officer for Chipotle. “While we have existing Lifestyle Bowls for specific diets, we’re encouraging our fans to eat healthy their way with new menu options inspired by orders from some of our most influential fans in the fitness world.”

Sweetgreen is introducing a Plates menu, featuring entrees that pair flavored proteins with vegetables, beans and whole grains. Varieties include the Chicken Chimichurri Plate, the Hot Honey Chicken Plate, the Miso Chicken Plate, the Cashew Sweet Potato Plate, the Green Goddess Steelhead Plate and the Mushroom Burrito Plate.

“We’re continuing to look for ways to evolve our offerings as the needs of our guests change due to the impact of COVID-19,” said Nicolas Jammet, co-founder and chief concept officer of Sweetgreen. “With Plates, our goal is to help create meaningful connections and good-for-you dining experiences during times where it may seem hard to do so. We hope these new items invoke the warm, comforting feeling of home cooked food, paired with quality ingredients and rich flavors that are unique to Sweetgreen.”
