SANTA BARBARA, CALIF. — Christopher (Casey) Bauer has been named executive vice president, product and operations, at plant-based nutritional formula maker Kate Farms.

He joins he company from sports nutrition company Nutrabolt, where he was chief operating officer and senior vice president of supply chain. Before that, he was division vice president of supply chain planning and integrated logistics at vitamins and supplements manufacturer Pharmavite.

Mr. Bauer will oversee supply management, procurement, manufacturing, distribution and quality along with new product development and innovation in his new role.

The announcement follows last month’s $23 million Series A-1 financing round, which brough the total amount raised by Kate Farms to $48 million. Funds will be used for additional hiring and continued innovation in the medical nutrition formula space.

Kate Farms’ formulas are organic and free from major allergens, including soy, dairy and corn. Made from easily digestible pea protein, prebiotics from agave inulin and a phytonutrient blend, the formula flows easily through a feeding tube or may be used orally.
