KANSAS CITY — Iced drinks, frozen beverages, ice cream floats and shakes are appearing on menus in anticipation of the upcoming summer season.

Starbucks is celebrating summer with the launch of the Iced Guava Passionfruit Drink, which blends the flavors of guava, passionfruit, pineapple and ginger all shaken with coconut milk and ice.

Taco Bell is expanding its frozen drink portfolio for summer with the new Pineapple Whip Freeze. The beverage features the flavors of pineapple whipped together with sweet vanilla cream.

Two new floats are joining the Arby’s menu for summer: the Coke Float and the Root Beer Float. The beverages feature either Coca-Cola or Barq’s root beer with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Sonic is starting the summer with a new shake variety – the Brownie Batter Shake – alongside the return of the Yellow Cake Batter Shake. The new Brownie Batter Shake features vanilla ice cream blended with rich chocolate brownie batter all topped with whipped cream and a cherry.

“We’ve captured the fun and thrill of baking with family into two creamy, sippable versions every dessert lover will find irresistible,” said Scott Uehlein, vice president of product innovation and development for Sonic. “Even though everyone has been at home baking for the past couple of months, our Brownie Batter and Yellow Cake Batter Shakes can only be found at Sonic. They’re here just in time to cool off on those hot summer days and nights.”
