LOS ANGELES — Califia Farms is spreading its reach into a new category with the launch of Plant Butter, a cultured, plant-based butter spread.
Made with avocado or olive oil, coconut oil, tigernuts and cashews, Plant Butter is non-GMO, vegan and keto-friendly. It comes in two varieties — sea salt with avocado oil and sea salt with olive oil — both containing 90 calories per 14-gram serving.
“Plant Butter is a plant-based, buttery, cultured spread made with top-shelf, whole food ingredients,” the company said. “It can be used in place of dairy butter for cooking and baking recipes and melts wonderfully.”
Califia Farms Plant Butter is available nationwide at Whole Foods Market stores for a suggested retail price of $4.99 per 8-oz tub. Additional retailer availability is planned for the fall.
