ATLANTA — Brian Krause has been named chief development officer at Focus Brands, parent company of Auntie Anne's, Carvel, Cinnabon, Jamba, Moe's Southwest Grill, McAlister's Deli and Schlotzsky's.

He succeeds Tim Muir, who was named to the newly created role of chief sales officer.

Mr. Krause joins the company from Inspire Brands, where he was chief development officer of Jimmy John’s Gourmet Sandwiches. Previously, he held several positions at Wyndham Hotels, including senior vice president of franchise development, vice president of brand operations and regional director of franchise development.

In his new role, Mr. Krause will lead collaboration across internal departments and brands and oversee efforts to drive growth for Focus Brands’ domestic portfolio.

Mr. Muir joined Focus Brands in 2017 as the company’s first chief development officer. Before that, he was vice president of franchise development at Choice Hotels International and senior vice president of franchise sales and development at Wyndham Hotel Group. As Focus Brands’ first chief sales officer, he will oversee franchise sales and revenue growth.

“I'm confident Brian's strengths in franchise sales, strategy, policymaking and collaboration will be invaluable in driving our brands forward to further accelerate our growth,” said Jim Holthouser, chief executive officer at Focus Brands. “Tim's success and leadership made him the obvious choice to trailblaze this new, critical function for us and I look forward to seeing the results of his high-performing sales team.”
