MOSS LANDING, CALIF. — Sweet Earth Foods, a Nestle SA business unit, is introducing the Awesome Bacon Burger, a new plant-based, vegan protein offering.

The burgers are made with textured pea protein and the brand’s Benevolent Bacon vegan bacon bits, made with vital wheat gluten, adzuki beans and buckwheat groats. The Non-GMO Project verified plant-based patties contain 330 calories, 26 grams of protein and 18 grams of fat per quarter-lb burger.

“We are so excited to announce the release of the Awesome Bacon Burger as the first-ever vegan bacon burger, proving eating plant-based can be just as delicious as it is nutritious,” said Jessica Vasisht, vice president of Sweet Earth Foods. “The combination of the Awesome Burger and our award-winning Benevolent Bacon brings together two of our fan-favorite products into one delicious option that is perfect for summer grilling.”

Available in packages of two quarter-lb patties, the Awesome Bacon Burger is available at HEB stores beginning this week with nationwide distribution planned for the coming weeks.
