YORK, PA. — Process equipment manufacturer Readco Kurimoto, LLC, offers continuous processors for plant-based meat products.
The continuous processors are capable of shredding, macerating and pulling finished products into a variety of forms. They texturize products that use soy, whey, wheat, pea and other proteins while adding flavors, seasonings and other ingredients in a single step, the company said.
A co-rotating, twin-screw configuration with a flattened paddle arrangement applies high-intensity shear over a long barrel length to achieve targeted textures. The processors combine both wet and dry ingredients and integrate mixing, blending, flavoring, seasoning, heating, encapsulating and texturing.
The food processing equipment is available in USDA- and 3-A-compliant designs and is custom engineered for each installation.
