WINSTON-SALEM, NC. — With each change in the weather and each upcoming holiday comes a new donut — or donuts — from Krispy Kreme Doughnut Corp. The company mostly is focused on a seasonal innovation strategy, even if those celebrations look different this year due to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic.

For this Halloween season, the chain is offering a new batch of spooky donuts called Scary Sweet Monster Doughnuts, including the Frank Monster Doughnut, Drake Monster Doughnut and Wolfie Monster Doughnut.

“This Halloween, we're trading scary for sweet and helping fans create new ways to safely enjoy the season,” said Dave Skena, chief marketing officer for Krispy Kreme. “Instead of asking for sweet treats, let’s give them away to all the neighbors, family and friends we appreciate so much. It’s not a normal Halloween, but that doesn’t mean we can’t make it a sweet one.”

Krispy Kreme celebrated Fourth of July holiday with a new collection of Indoughpendence Day Doughnuts, including the Patriotic Sprinkles Doughnut, Strawberry Sparkler Doughnut, Original Filled Freedom Ring Doughnut and Firework Doughnut.

“July 4th will be different this year, but delicious, red, white and blue donuts in patriotic packaging are sure to help make it a happy holiday for you and your whole family,” Mr. Skena said.

Within the last year, the donut chain also debuted new pumpkin donuts for fall, dessert donuts for summer, fruit-glazed donuts for spring and gingerbread donuts for winter.
