LOS ANGELES — Truff, a manufacturer of premium hot sauces made with blends of truffles and spices, is entering a new category with the launch of Truff Pasta Sauce.

Available in Pomodoro and spicy Arrabbiata varieties, the simmered sauces feature the same flavor profile as Truff’s hot sauces. The pasta sauce recipe includes black winter truffles, tomatoes, olive oil infused with black truffle essence, yellow onion, red chili peppers, vinegar, garlic, agave nectar, basil, oregano and black pepper. Both flavors are vegan and gluten free, and each ½-cup serving contains 150 to 160 calories, 2 grams of protein and 7 grams of sugar.

"Truff’s Pasta Sauce is a delicious evolution of what we've done with our existing hot sauce portfolio,” said Reno Yanes, vice president of sales at Truff. “With the expansion, we will continue to put a premium, stylized spin on consumer categories that have been historically dominated by legacy brands. We are excited to provide the same level of differentiated brand and taste experience to the pasta aisle."

Launched in 2017, Truff also offers white truffle hot sauce, black truffle hot sauce and black truffle “hotter” sauce.

"The Truff brand actually stemmed from an Instagram account, @sauce, where we shared a mix of pop culture and foodie content,” said Nick Ajluni, co-founder and co-chief executive officer of Truff. “With Truff, we always wanted to create products for the audience that we built. While pasta sauce is new to Truff, we are keeping a consistent approach of creating distinctive products around the lifestyle our customers embrace and desire."

Truff Pasta Sauce will debut online, at select Whole Foods Market locations and nationally at Bloomingdales and Neiman Marcus.
