KANSAS CITY — Extra cheese is extra popular in new menu items ranging from pizza and pasta to bread and burgers.
Papa John’s is rolling out Epic Stuffed Crust, the chain’s first stuffed crust pizza. The offering starts with Papa John’s original dough, made from flour, water, sugar, soybean oil, salt and yeast, and stuffs it with extra cheese.
“As we continue to develop new craveable menu offerings, we’re always inspired by our fans,” said Tom Smith, director of culinary innovation for Papa John’s. “Stuffed crust lovers are passionate pizza fans, and it is something our fans continue to ask for. Since quality crust is at our core, we’re excited to deliver stuffed crust lovers an experience they’re sure to enjoy.”
Noodles & Company is testing new ravioli and tortelloni dishes at 21 locations across Colorado, Illinois and Ohio. The new stuffed pasta options are available in six varieties, all of which are filled with several cheeses.
The 3-Cheese Tortelloni Rosa features tortelloni filled with a blend of ricotta, mozzarella, Parmesan, onions and garlic in spicy tomato cream sauce with mushrooms, Roma tomato, spinach and Parmesan.
The 3-Cheese Tortelloni Pesto includes tortelloni filled with a blend of ricotta, mozzarella, Parmesan, onions and garlic in basil pesto cream sauce with garlic, mushrooms, tomato, and Parmesan.
The Roasted Garlic Cream Tortelloni contains cheese-filled tortelloni in light roasted garlic and onion cream sauce with zucchini, mushrooms and spinach, finished with MontAmoré cheese and parsley.
The Parmigiano Ravioli Rosa is made with Parmigiano Reggiano cheese-filled ravioli in spicy tomato cream sauce with mushrooms, Roma tomato, spinach and Parmesan.
The Parmigiano Ravioli Pesto features Parmigiano Reggiano cheese-filled ravioli in basil pesto cream sauce with garlic, mushrooms, tomato and Parmesan.
The Roasted Garlic Cream Ravioli contains Parmigiano Reggiano cheese-filled ravioli in light roasted garlic and onion cream sauce with zucchini, mushrooms and spinach, finished with MontAmoré cheese.
“Our new ravioli and tortelloni dishes offer a fresh take on the recipes that our guests love, loaded with specialty ingredients such as caramelized onions, ricotta, mozzarella and Parmesan cheeses in the tortelloni, and a blend of ricotta, Parmigiano Reggiano, and mozzarella cheeses with a light touch of breadcrumbs in the ravioli,” said Nick Graff, executive chef at Noodles & Company. “We truly have something on the menu for everyone, and with these new additions, there's even more for our guests to enjoy.”
Blaze Pizza is offering new Cheesy Bread, made with the chain’s pizza dough covered in melted whole-milk mozzarella cheese, topped with oregano and drizzled with extra virgin olive oil. The bread is served with a classic red sauce for dipping.
BurgerFi is doubling down on cheese with its new White Cheddar Mac & Cheese Cheeseburger, featuring a 100% all-natural Angus Beef burger patty, American cheese and crispy white cheddar bacon jalapeño macaroni and cheese served on a toasted, branded bun.
